Considering having a retreat in the winter? Here are some reasons why we like winter retreats!
- Availability
- Conference centers will typically have more space available for retreats November-January. If you’re looking to book a retreat but the dates your church/group wants are taken, look into booking later in the year!
- For MHS, these are our open dates:
- January 8th-10th, 2016 - Men, Women, and Family Retreats
- January 15th-17th, 2016 - Women Retreats
- January 22nd-24th, 2016 - Men, Women, and Family Retreats
- January 29th-31st, 2016 - Men Retreats
- Discounts
- Sometimes, conference centers offer discounts for the colder months. Here at MHS, we give 10% off November and December retreats for churches/groups who are booking for the first time.
- Reflection/Vision Casting
- If you haven’t chosen a theme yet, end-of-the-year retreats are the perfect time to reflect on the Lord’s faithfulness. Looking back on how He worked in your church, ministries, and individual lives can help motivate attendees and spur them to deepen their relationships with Him. Not only that, they’re also a great time for your church to cast vision for the upcoming year. Having a ministry, or even church-wide, vision retreat in the winter is beneficial for members to see where their leader/pastor believes the Lord is guiding them, and what they want to see happen in the next season.
- Winter Activities
- Our affiliate conference center, Green Valley Lake Christian Camp, offers different winter amenities to your group, and our hot springs are just as welcoming in the cold, winter months as they are during the summer!
